Man, this whole work thing is getting in the way of my blogging! 9 hours a day and not a single photo of anything cool to show for it! Tonight however, I did have some homework. I'm one of two Green Coordinators for the town and since we just started a new fiscal year at work we've got a new budget to help the "green" efforts of the town. One of our brilliant brainstorms was to supplement the two coffee pots in our break room with pump pots. Brew the pot of coffee then dump it in the pump pot allowing us to kill the power to the coffee makers. Kari (my co-green coordinator) and I spent part of the day shopping for pump pots finally finding one at Bed Bath & Beyond. It's actually the same brand as our iced coffee carafe that hangs out in our fridge so I expect it will work marvelously. I ran there after dinner (a delicious meal of bbq'd turkey burgers) and found them right away. I even had a 20% off coupon for it.
We brought home our little bundle of joy today, Alistair, our laptop which has been at the computer doctor since last week getting a new hard drive since the old one took a dump. Fantastic fun! The best part was that I left my prescription sunglasses there so I'll have to go back tomorrow and hope they're still there. Brilliant! Chris gets the unenviable duty of trying to reinstall Windows on it this evening. Since we had a disk of questionable origin they couldn't install it for us. So far it is not going well. I predict yelling and other productive actions. I hate computers, I hate them so much. Computers and cars have a special place in hell. I guarantee it.

Muffins, Cricut and Nascar - Oh my!
There are two important things about Sundays; the store ads are in the newspaper and there is racing on. Today was no different. My coveted Michael's ad (the only reason we subscribe to theER) was there announcing the most fabulous Cricut cartridge sale ever, $40 each! I got over there literally 2 minutes after they opened at 10:00 am, busted through the crowd of four gawkers in the isle to snag two new cartridges; Stretch your imagination and Mickey font. Score!!!
After my ultimate find I decided to make my lemon poppyseed muffins before the temperature got up to a billion degrees and it was too hot to bake. Yes they're boxed, but they're delicious, organic and delightfully low-fat.
And then of course there's Nascar on today. While I wouldn't ordinarily choose to watch Nascar on my own, I've accepted that my husband likes to watch pretty much any form of racing and therefore I may as well embrace it or live a miserable existence. I have chosen Tony Stewart (#20) as my favorite Nascar driver. He is a pudgy, cantankerous blame layer and that's why I love him. He never accepts the blame if he crashes out or if he crashes into anyone. It's always somebody else who's an idiot. Yessss...you tell 'em Tony! So that's the big plan for today; Nascar. And maybe if the mood hits me, ironing.

Flip card fever
My latest scrapbook project is a series of alphabetical flip cards. 26 things I love. Of course I was struggling to find appropriate items, or even any items, for Q, U and X. But with enough coffee fueled ambition, brilliant ideas are bound to come up. Hence "Queen Bed" for the letter Q. Not only do I love my feather bed, but I love our new comforter from IKEA. It's cream with embroidered flowers and buttons along the bottom. It's actually a duvet cover that we bought a summer weight comforter for to stuff it with.
I already had a bunch of usable photos for my flip book on the computer, but we took some extra ones I was missing this morning and just sent them to WalMart to have wallet size prints made. That should keep me busy for oh...about an hour.
We got up early this morning and went to the Farmers Market. There's a booth there that sells mixed bags of squash and zucchini for $2.00. It's a deal and they're delicious. We also got those long skinny eggplants and a whole gaggle of cucumbers. No zucchini bread for me this time. I have a boxed mix for lemon poppyseed muffins that I'm making this weekend instead.
My youngest sister, Wilson, and my mom came over last night for dinner. Chris and I took them to La Hacienda where we relentlessly grilled Wilson about her post college graduation plans reminding her not to lose sight of her childhood dream of being a papiermache artist and working at All the Best Video. She did not think it as funny as we did. Hmm...
